The frets have been leveled and will soon be crowned and polished.
On days when I don't feel quite up to working on d On days when I don't feel quite up to working on dulcimers, I sometimes engage in what I refer to as "Sharpening Therapy." 
I always keep my tools sharp, and I'll often touch up an edge while working, but on Sharpening Therapy days, I sometimes sharpen just for the sake of sharpening.
Doing so makes me feel better, and when I feel up to working again, all the tools in the shop and knives in the kitchen are ready for action.

All the parts are not yet glued together. Before that happens, there will be some carving, shaping, and drilling.
- I'm working on a peghead assembly that requires - I'm working on a peghead assembly that requires a dowel, and I make my own short dowels using a knife, dowel plates, and a mallet. This way, I know the dowels will be truly round and accurate in diameter.
I remembered to turn my hearing aids off before pounding wood through the dowel plates this time... 😀
